DESCIPRTION

At project commencement, we delved into the connection between El Niño events and increased coral bleaching incidents. Elevated sea temperatures and altered ocean patterns during El Niño stress coral reefs, causing bleaching. 

PROJECT OBJECTIVES

> Transport the audience to 1957, the onset of coral bleaching and El Niño

> Create an educational VR+PC digital documentation of the Great Barrier Coral Reef's Bleaching.

The landscape generation replicates the Shelburne Australia coastline from DEM and CESIUM, ensuring geographical accuracy and a realistic sense of scale.
The distribution of coral formations mirrors real-world patterns, creating an immersive underwater world teeming with vibrant marine life. The ocean's dynamic properties and interactive foliage, combined with textured terrain, offer an captivating exploration of the Great Barrier Reef's diverse ecosystem.

Over 90% of the northern Great Barrier reef is bleached and over 20% has died. Bleaching is when the coral releases its symbiotic algae used for food.

PROCEDUAL CORAL DISTRIBUTION 

The procedural algorithm-based coral system implementation enables a realistic and efficient digital recreation of underwater ecosystems. This approach integrates data collection, analysis, and refinement to authentically simulate coral environments, leveraging collected resources and information for a highly accurate and immersive result.

GAME PLAY SETTING 

Utilizing Convai large Language model, the VR facilitates dynamic interactions between players and AI NPC. The most advance NPC, Matilda, can provide context, tasks, and educational information about within the immersive VR environment. This blend of third-person guidance and VR character presence creates a unique and engaging gaming experience.
